When will my order ship?
We generally package and ship orders the same or next business day. Occasionally, this may be delayed if we need to contact you for your order, or other reasons. If we anticipate a longer than normal delay, we will contact you. Tracking information will be emailed to you after your order is shipped. If you do not receive this email, please email us at help@hungrysantatrading.com and we can provide you the number.
Why should I trust your gear?
You shouldn’t trust any gear unless you’ve tested it yourself. However, we do our best to provide high quality, durable equipment:
- We use high strength 1000D/500D laminate and premium US made hardware.
- We sew with USA made bonded nylon thread, with reinforced stitching at pressure points.
- If our gear has corners we believe are at risk of ripping under extreme pressure (unlikely with thick laminate), we round the corners for strength. Mechanical engineering nerds call this a fillet.
- We try to minimize single points of failure in our designs, so in the event that our gear does have a failure, there’s a higher likelihood it can still function in critical situations until it has time to be repaired or replaced.
- We don’t drop ship. We don’t contract to a factory in Vietnam to make our gear. It’s made right here, by us, and we see each piece of equipment from start to finish.
- If you see a piece of gear for sale on our website, it generally went through 6+ months of prototyping, testing, redesign, and I probably tripped over piles of those test units to come type this.
- Most of all, our designs are simple. A byproduct of that simplicity is durability. Less parts and less variables = less chance for failure.
However, nothing is invincible. If you do have a failure, please let us know about it. With your input, we can further improve our designs, solve any problems, and continue to bring high quality gear at affordable prices.
How do I know which elastic insert/harness/backstrap I need?
Our complete chest rig bundles are designed to provide you with simple, out of the box solutions in a market where everything is becoming too complex. All you need to do is make sure you select the proper caliber for the elastic insert when purchasing a chest rig.
All of our harnesses and backstraps are designed to work with all of our chest rigs.
- Our 5.56 elastic inserts work with most common 5.56 / AR-15 magazines on the market.
- Our 7.62 elastic inserts work with most common 20 round .308 / 7.62 x 51mm NATO magazines on the market. They are not designed for use with 7.62 x 39mm AK magazines.
- Our PDW elastic inserts generally work with most double stack pistol caliber magazines, however, PDW magazines can vary in size. If you have a PDW magazine that is notably shorter or longer than standard 9mm/.40/.45 caliber PDW magazines, such as a 5.7mm magazine, they may not have the best fit.

How do I attach my Sling?
Our slings have sliplocks on the ends which can secure the webbing after it is looped through our QD sling swivels (included with our sling bundles or purchased separately). You can also loop the webbing through webbing holes on some AR stocks, or traditional sling mounts used with shotguns & hunting style bolt action rifles, although we do not currently offer this type of sling mount.
How do I adjust my Sling?
Our slings have a quick adjust feature in the front for use after the sling is adjusted to the right length in the rear. You’ll want to adjust the sling to the proper length in the rear to get the most benefit from the quick adjust.
To adjust the length of the webbing on the rear of the Slingus:
- One layer of webbing should be guided through the sliplocks, entering the sliplock from the bottom, going over the center bar, and exiting the bottom of the sliplock on the other side.
- Slide the sliplocks to an appropriate position. The sliplock closest to the rear of the sling will create a small loop to hold your mounting hardware, such as our QD swivel, and the other sliplock will hold extra webbing in place.
- Insert the webbing through your mount of choice. The extra webbing should be on top (not the side facing your body)
- Run the second layer of webbing through the sliplocks corner first. We use heavy duty sliplocks and the fit can be tight, but if you feed the webbing through corner first, you shouldn’t have any issues.
Once you have adjusted the rear, you simply pull the quick adjust handle forward or backward to adjust the sling during use.
Does your placard/harness/insert work with my plate carrier/chest rig from this other company?
We can’t guarantee that our gear is compatible with gear from other brands. However, it is generally the same or similar size to industry standard. Our chest rig placards have quick detach female buckles on the sides that can be removed. Our buckles are premium DuraflexUSA™ and are compatible with most commonly used 1″ buckles.
If your plate carrier uses quick detach female buckles for attaching the top buckles of a placard and you don’t have them or yours are incompatible, we offer a two pack of ours under accessories.
Can I change my order?
If you’re having trouble deciding what gear you need, reach out to us and we’d be happy to try to help. If you’d like to change an order after you’ve submitted it, reach out to us and we can change it if we see the email in time.
Once we ship the order, we are unable to change the order and returns would fall under our Warranty and Returns Policy.
What warranty do you offer?
Most of our items come with a one year limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship, excluding normal wear & tear, abuse, etc. All of our warranty information can be found in our Warranty and Returns Policy found here.
We use the best USA materials available, including heavy duty 1000D/500D laminate, USA made bonded nylon thread, and we have reinforced and redundant stitching to make sure our gear doesn’t fail you. If you do have a failure, please send us photos and as much information as possible so we can not only help you out, but modify our testing process to make sure we are putting out the most durable gear available.
Can I return my item?

Why was my payment declined?
Payments may be declined for various reasons. Orders over $500 require ACH/E-Check. This helps prevent fraud and allows us to keep our prices affordable. If you have payment issues and need help, or would like to place a large or custom order, email us at sales@hungrysantatrading.com.
Why don’t you sell to California and New York?
We currently ship to 48 U.S. states. Due to evolving regulatory and compliance requirements in CA and NY, we’re working on ensuring full legal compliance before opening sales in those states. Feel free to join our email list and you will be notified when products become available in these states.
Do you offer LEO/MIL discounts?
We founded Hungry Santa Trading Company primarily to offer affordable, high quality equipment that’s designed to fit the needs of American civilians. As such, we do not currently offer any LEO/MIL specific discounts.
Are your products Made in the USA, or just assembled in the USA?
Any of our products that are labeled Made in the USA are made in the USA from USA materials and components. We support American manufacturing and small businesses.
Do you do custom items/colors?
It depends. If we can acquire the materials necessary, have the time, and the product is within our skillset, we may be able to help. If we don’t believe we can provide you with the highest quality product, we’re not going to send it out. Feel free to contact us regarding a custom product and we’ll get back to you. Please note: with any custom work, we retain the rights to manufacture and sell the product on the market.
